What to Check ?

1.    Ensure that there is a subdirectory called “plugin” created under the root directory e.g. D:\N64\Emulators\1964
Create the plugin subdirectory if it does not exist
2.   Ensure that there is a subdirectory called “save” created under the root directory e.g. D:\N64\Emulators\1964
Create the save subdirectory if it does not exist
3.   Ensure important files like 1964.ini exist in the root directory e.g. D:\N64\Emulators\1964
Move it back to the root directory if it went to other subdirectory
4.   Ensure that the “1964” root directory or “save” subdirectory is not write-protected
5. Ensure the "Show Rom Browser" is checked otherwise no roms will listed in the GUI even if the "Rom Directory" is correct
6. The other way to load a rom is to select from GUI "File" then click "Load Rom" and select a game from your Rom directory
